Continuously taking it on and off may distort the shape of the bracelet. Bracelet size is determined by measuring the exact size (circumference) of your wrist. With the cuff bracelet, the end balls can be set at a postion that is comfortble for you both in appearance and fit. If you order the size bracelet to match the size of your wrist, the end "balls" will have the separation that you see in the picture.
